Canon & the Use of Canon Characters

F&A is set in Asimov's Foundation universe, but do not feel confined by the Foundation series. Asimov himself did not plan to link his Robots, Empire, and Foundation stories into a single future history. There are plenty of plot holes and continuity changes in his work when he did merge them all together. If Asimov himself did not feel obligated to keep a hard canon, why should we?

I ask only that the general feel to the Foundation universe be maintained. The biggest deviation this site has from the Foundation series is the introduction of aliens, but the end of Foundation and Earth heavily suggested that the next major challenge facing humanity would be the arrival of beings from outside their galaxy. If you wish to role play with a light saber, go role play in a Star Wars forum. Otherwise have fun.

Canon characters are not playable. On occasion the site staff may elect to make use of canon characters, such as R. Daneel Olivaw, to advance the plot but we will try to keep this at a minimum. This is in order to encourage players to make their own characters and stories.
